Dr. William M. Davis is the founder and president of Triad Environmental Solutions, Inc.  He is a chemist with over 30 years experience in the environmental field.  His experience includes fate and transport of contaminants, development and implementation of environmental analytical techniques, both laboratory and field methods.

Dr. Davis was formerly a Research Chemist with the Ecosystem Processes and Effects Branch, Environmental Laboratory, Waterways Experiment Station (WES).  He was a principal investigator in the Site Characterization and Analysis Penetrometer System (SCAPS) Program developing sensors for in situ detection of petroleum contamination, explosives and volatile organic compounds in both soil and groundwater.   Through the SCAPS program, Dr. Davis participated in the development of the DOE Expedited Site Characterization program and the development of the ASTM Expedited Site Characterization standards.  During his tenure with the COE, Dr. Davis was a founding member of the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council (ITRC).

From 2001 to 2007, he was Vice President for Technical Services at Tri-Corder Environmental, Inc.  He lead Tri-Corders’ technical team in the application of state of the art field measurement technologies in the application of the Triad approach to site characterization. During this period, he continued service in the ITRC as member on a number of teams including the Site Characterization and Monitoring and DNAPL teams.

During the development of the Triad Approach by US EPA, Dr. Davis assisted the US EPA, COE, the US Navy, US Air Force and numerous state regulatory agencies with Traid training.  In addition, he worked as a member of the ITRC Site Characterization and Monitoring team to develop the “Technical and Regulatory Guidance for the Triad Approach” document.  He also helped develop and was a trainer for the web-based training course based on the document.

While employed by the COE at WES and later by Tri-Corders, Dr. Davis lead, co-lead and participated in over 200 site characterization projects all using some form of real-time contaminant detection and real-time decision making.  The experience he brings to the company makes it recognized as the premier Triad site characterization services provider.
