Tri-Corders (TEI) was contracted by Applied Research Associates, Inc. to co-lead (with ARA) a Triad approach site investigation of this Defense Logistics Agency site. The objective of the investigation was to determine the level of site contamination in preparation for transfer of the site to the City of Lynn Haven, FL. As part of this project, TEI did initial development and validation of a rapid method for screening soils for semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs). The project required sampling, analytical screening and confirmatory analysis over the entire 250 acre site. Sample media included soil, groundwater and sediment (marine and freshwater) in upland and wetland environments. Potential contaminants of concern were heavy metals, VOCs and SVOCs. The investigation included field analysis of over 300 VOCs by EPA Method 8265, over 300 metals by EPA Method 6200 and over 150 analyses of SVOCs using a rapid screening DSITMS method.
